Introducing your toolbar Control Panel's new look

You can't miss it--just log in to your toolbar's Control Panel and you'll see the new and improved opening page. The redesigned layout, based on feedback from publishers like you, gives you quicker access to the best of your toolbar's features and components. In this edition of the ConduiTimes, we'll show you what's new in the Toolbar tab, and we'll revisit the Accounts tab, where you can easily keep your toolbar configured the way you want it.

Adding components is smoother than ever

Now, all the toolbar components appear in helpful categories. The categories include Basic Components (such as links and menus), Content Components (such as RSS Reader and Radio Player), Personalized Components (such as E-mail Notifier and Weather), and Custom Components (such as gadgets and HTML components). With this new layout, you can effortlessly maintain the right mix of engaging toolbar components --and make sure your community members get the content they want most. Spotlight on cool components: Did you ever get the feeling that some interesting toolbar features were placed on inside pages where you couldn't find them? No more! Every component is now in the main list in the Toolbar tab. All you have to do is click and start adding: Add a Podcast - Adding podcasts is a great way to enhance the popular Radio Player component for your toolbar subscribers. You can now add any podcast, from your site or any other site, in a few quick steps. Add a Custom Search - Search is an especially popular function, so adding your site search can bring your community toolbar users back to your website again and again. You can also use the Custom Search menu to add a search engine from any other site that your toolbar subscribers may like. Add a Community Search - Why not make your Search Box an even more valuable asset by creating a search that is based on relevant sites that you choose? It’s a great way to help your subscribers find what they're looking for in their favorite sites--all in one search. Create as many Community Searches as you like. Add an Application Button - If you offer your toolbar as part of your application's installer, then you can have your subscribers launch your application directly from their toolbar. Adding an Application Button takes just a minute using a few simple steps.

Managing your community toolbar account was never so easy and intuitive. Your Control Panel's Account tab is your one-stop-shop for all your essential toolbar settings. Be sure to check out the following sections: Toolbar - Duplicate your toolbar or modify important account settings such as name, password, tags and public access. E-mail Information - Configure your e-mail settings to receive queries from your toolbar users and important information from Conduit. Toolbar Settings - Control important localization and usability settings such as languages, alignment and fonts. Hosted Domain - Choose from a selection of 22 domain names to provide your toolbar with rich branding capabilities. Advanced Privacy Settings - Make sure your toolbar follows best privacy practices and offers your subscribers a safe experience. Personal Components - Let your subscribers configure their own personalized components according to their personal preferences. Toolbar Installer - Customize your toolbar installer package with your own logo or image.
